This is a demonstration of spherical aberration, referring to a spherical mirror's inability to focus light from a distant source onto a single point.

Move the cursor around to control the direction which the beam is coming from. Notice how no matter which direction the beam points, it is never focused into a point, even by this ideal spherical mirror.
